Robert Monster
Robert’s experience and knowledge comes from five years as an automotive technician, his subsequent education and training as a professional engineer, and 31 years with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
During his time at MTO Robert’s positions included:
- Senior Vehicle Standards Engineer
- Specifications Engineer
- Fleet Coordinator
- Research Engineer
Within MTO, Robert’s last 12 years were with the Carrier Safety and Enforcement Branch where he was directly involved in the development and support of various equipment and inspection standards such as:
- CSA D250, School Buses
- Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) – National Safety Code (NSC) 11B standard
- Ontario’s Passenger/Light-Duty Vehicle Inspection Standard
- Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) type school bus inspections
Specific to the school bus industry, Robert, since 1998, has been a member of the D250 School Bus Technical Committee of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), where he also spent four years as chair.
